Join Us at the Courthouse on September 14
Dear Subscriber,
Parents, healthcare professionals, attorneys, LGBTQ+ advocates, students, and longtime supporters all came together around one simple idea: every child deserves equal protection. Portland’s community showed that people are ready to recognize the rights of male and intersex children to grow up with the bodies they were born with, and to see existing legal protections applied equally to every child

“Portland Pride made one thing unmistakably clear: people understand that bodily autonomy belongs to every child. With the support of the Portland community, Oregon has the opportunity to lead a historic advancement in children’s civil and human rights.” — Eric Clopper

Hadachek v. Oregon seeks to enforce Oregon’s Equal Rights Amendment so protections against genital cutting extend equally to female, male, and intersex children. If successful, it could set a historic precedent for youth bodily autonomy.

Before history can be made, the lawsuit must survive the State’s attempt to dismiss it. The court will hear oral arguments on Oregon's motion for summary judgment on Monday, September 14, at 1:30 p.m. at the Multnomah County Circuit Court (Courtroom 9C). Defeating this motion moves the case to trial in December.

A packed courtroom sends an unmistakable signal to the Court and the State. Whether you are a legal professional, parent, healthcare worker, or advocate, showing up in Portland matters.

If you cannot attend, you can drive this movement forward by donating to the litigation fund or sharing this update. We are also seeking introductions to Oregon-licensed attorneys who support equal protection.

To connect or ask questions, reply to this email or reach out to Justin Bonyai, Director of Operations, at justin@intactglobal.org.

Thank you to everyone who visited our Portland Pride booth and signed up for updates. Movements become history when people choose to show up—we hope to stand with you on September 14.
