Dear Subscriber,
For the first time, a U.S. court has recognized that laws protecting only girls from genital cutting may violate equal protection guarantees under the Constitution.

“Today’s ruling is not just a win for our plaintiffs—it is a win for children everywhere. The court has recognized that our claims are legally plausible and that we are now firmly on the path toward changing the law.” —Eric Clopper

This marks a turning point in the movement for bodily autonomy. Courts, lawmakers, and parents must now confront a defining question: If a child’s bodily autonomy matters in one context, why not all?

Thank you for standing with us as we continue the fight for equal protection and the right of every child to remain whole.
