Deborah Eshaghian is a dedicated attorney and advocate whose work is guided by a deep commitment to justice, equality and principled civic engagement. A native of Los Angeles, she attended the University of California, Los Angeles (UCLA), where she graduated with honors and distinction, before earning her Juris Doctor from Loyola Law School in 2004.
A proud member of the Jewish community, Ms. Eshaghian was raised in a traditional Jewish home, attended a Jewish day school, and celebrated her Bat Mitzvah—formative experiences that instilled in her a lasting appreciation for heritage, ethical responsibility and the pursuit of justice. She credits her Jewish identity and values as foundational influences shaping both her personal character and her professional path.
Throughout her legal career, Ms. Eshaghian has been a steadfast advocate for underrepresented communities, with a particular focus on Teachers' Rights and Students with Disabilities. Her work reflects a broader commitment to ensuring that those without a voice are meaningfully represented and protected within the legal system. Guided by a strong sense of duty, she has long embraced the responsibility of advocating for individuals and groups whose rights may otherwise go unheard.
Since 2023, Ms. Eshaghian has expanded her advocacy to include Children’s rights, with a particular emphasis on issues of Child Bodily Autonomy and Equal Protection. Ms. Eshaghian strongly believes that ALL children should be protected equally against forced genital cutting—regardless of sex. Her work in this area reflects a focus on legal analysis, public awareness and engagement with the medical community.
Ms. Eshaghian strives to contribute meaningfully to conversations at the intersection of Equal Protection, Bioethics and Children's rights.
